More about Dr Mohd Mashfiqul:

Dr Siddiqui is an orthopaedic surgeon with sub-specialist training in complex spinal surgery. He is also a visiting consultant to Singapore General Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and currently on the international faculty of educators for teaching spinal surgery. He was previously a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore YLL School of Medicine.

Dr Siddiqui obtained his basic medical degree from the National University of Singapore. He subsequently pursued his post-graduate training in Orthopaedic surgery and obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He later underwent specialised training in spinal surgery at The Royal Alexandra Hospital, University of Alberta Hospital and the Stollery Children’s Hospital under renowned spinal surgeons from both orthopaedic and neurosurgical background.

Dr Siddiqui is an advocate of using minimal access surgical techniques to achieve a quicker recovery from surgery with decreased post-operative pain and a shorter hospitalisation stay. He is also well versed in the usage of both 2-D and 3-D computer navigation techniques for spinal surgery and utilises them when necessary to give the best clinical outcome. His areas of interest include spinal degeneration (both in the neck and back), prolapsed intervertebral disc (slipped disc), cervical disc replacement (replacing the discs in the neck), spinal deformity (such as scoliosis) and spinal tumors. He is one of the few surgeons in Singapore experienced in dealing with resection of massive sacral tumours and subsequent reconstruction of the spine to the pelvis.
